Crunch Crust Apple Pie
Ingredients:
apples, raw, with skin
sugars, granulated
sugars, brown
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
spices, cinnamon, ground
butter, without salt
sugars, brown
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
shortening confectionery, coconut (hydrogenated) and or palm kernel (hydrogenated)
Directions:
1.
Slice apples into a large bowl.
2.
Add the next four ingredients and toss together.
Set aside.
3.
In another bowl, cut butter into small pieces and mix with the other three ingredients until crumbly.
4.
Set aside 3/4 cup of this mixture for the topping.
5.
Press the remaining mixture into a 9 pie pan.
6.
Pour in the apple filling in on top of that and then top with the reserved crumb mixture.
7.
Bake at 350 F for about 60 minutes.
