Easy Chocolate Chip Shortbread
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
salt, table
butter, without salt
sugars, granulated
spartan, real semi-sweet chocolate baking chips,
nuts, pecans
Directions:
1.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
2.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
In medium bowl
cream butter and sugar together with wooden spoon.
3.
Add chocolate chips and nuts to butter/sugar mix and stir together.
4.
Stir in dry ingredients - works best if you mix together with your hands.
Roll dough into walnut size balls.
Flatten cookies slightly with the.
palm of your hand and place on cookie sheet.
5.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes (17 minute in my oven) until light golden
brown around edges.
Cookies will be soft in the middle but will firm up
as they cool.
6.
Leave on cookie sheet for a couple minutes to let them firm up then
cool on racks.
Makes 2 dozen cookies.
