Apricot And Walnut Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
salt, table
spices, cinnamon, ground
oil, olive, salad or cooking
apricots, dried, sulfured, uncooked
nuts, walnuts, english
sugars, brown
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 230 C, 450 F, Gas Mark 8.
Sift the flour, salt and spice into a bowl.
Rub in the fat till the mix resembles fine bread crumbs.
Stir in the apricots, walnut pcs and sugar, add in the lowfat milk and mix to a soft dough.
Knead gently till smooth.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a 1 cm ( 1/2 inch)
thickness and cut out 8-10 rounds with a 6cm (2 1/2 inch) biscuit cutter.
Transfer to a greased baking tray, brush tops with lowfat milk and bake on the middle oven shelf of the preheated oven for 8-10 min till well risen and golden.
NOTES : Delicious quick and easy to make scones, suitable for vegans.
