Spiced Rice
Ingredients:
rice, white, long-grain, regular, unenriched, cooked without salt
water, bottled, generic
onions, raw
oil, olive, salad or cooking
honey
soup, chicken broth or bouillon, dry
raisins, seeded
spices, curry powder
salt, table
spices, cumin seed
spices, cinnamon, ground
peppers, sweet, green, raw
Directions:
Bring rice and water to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until water is absorbed.
Saute onion for 1 minute.
Add honey and cook 2 minutes longer.
Stir in the broth raisins, curry, salt, cumin, and cinnamon.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
Stir in red bell pepper and rice until well blended and rice is heated through.
